GIS in Education Award
Each year, the Delaware Geographic Data Committee (DGDC) honors an educator who has been instrumental in furthering the use of digital spatial data, internet mapping services, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in Delaware. This is a great way for Delaware K-12 teachers and students, Girl and Boy Scout Troops, 4-H Clubs and other community organizations to honor their GIS leaders. The GeoEducation Subcommittee makes the final selection and the award is presented to the recipient at the annual Delaware GIS Conference.
All K-12 teachers and administrators in Delaware schools are eligible. Also eligible are student group advisors and leaders of community groups for children. Anyone may submit a nomination, including supervisors, colleagues, students and students' families.
