Each year, the Delaware Geographic Data Committee (DGDC) honors an educator who has been instrumental in furthering the use of digital spatial data, internet mapping services, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in Delaware. In 2014, we expanded this contest to include the Delmarva Peninsula. So this means we accepted nominations from the entire Delmarva Community*. This is a great way for Delmarva Kindergarten through College level teachers and students, Girl and Boy Scout Troops, 4-H Clubs and other community organizations to honor their GIS leaders. The GeoEducation Subcommittee of the DGDC makes the final selection and the award is presented to the recipient at the Delmarva GIS Conference.
